Jesus
And Me (JAM)
JAM Youth Ministry is for anyone grades 6-12
.
Meeting
Time
The JAM youth group meets on Wednesday nights at 7:00. We're playing
hoops and ping-pong outside for 30 minutes, and then take it inside
for a half hour bible study and prayer time.
Activities
JAM participates in many activities with the Philadelphia Baptist
Association PBA, such as:
PBA Youth Retreat each year in March
PBA Youth Rally each year in September
Summer at Second Basketball
Summer Amusement Park Trip and other fellowship activities.
Service
Projects
JAM Youth Ministry schedules a service project on the 4th Saturday of
each month.
JAM Youth
Ministry helps the elderly church and community members with chores
and activities they are unable to do themselves.
JAM youth
also volunteer to assist the teachers of the Second Baptist Children’s
Church during Worship on Sundays.
Fundraising
JAM Youth Ministry raises funds for its programming through activities
such as the Black History Month Dinner, Car Washes, and Christmas Card
sales. Individual JAM members do odd jobs and chores such as Babysitting
and Yard Work to offset their personal costs for activities.
Bible
Study
JAM
is learning and growing in the Word of GOD through Bible Study on Friday
nights and Sunday mornings during Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. Two classes
are offered Sunday mornings. Sharon Brown teaches 6th-8th grades, and
Sheila Heyer-Rivera teaches 9th-12th grades. Many times, classes are
combined.
JAM
Praise Dancers
JAM has put together a fantastic praise dance team that has ministered
at our WOW (Women of the Word) Bible study as well as at Sunday morning
worship service.
